I'm having a project to design a car.
The car to be designed must be able to move forward, activate the counter & display circuit and display the station number(my allocated station no is 7), pause for 1.5 seconds before reversing back to the first station. I have finished the counter & display circuit, sensor circuit(to sense the tunnel-like stations) and the motion control circuit, Now my problem is that I'm not sure on how to pause the circuit for 1.5 seconds before reversing.

You probably can have another counter and count clock cycles till it 1.5 sec passed. You can do it knowing your work frequency. Once you’ve counted enough, you’ll stop counter and raise signal allowing reverse operation of your car.

Thanks but is it possible to have a schematic diagram?

I don’t have such circuit at the moment. The closest you can get is counters and comparers in digital clock sample on download page.
