Hi All,
First post, so hopefully its in the right section, I'm new to Logic Circuit and have been asked to design a circuit with 4-bits of input (representing the numbers 0-f ) that displays the value of the input on a 7-segment LED.
I have to admit I'm completely stuck at this one, I know how to do this with an 8 - bit up counter but I have no idea how to do this using 4 bits of input.
Is anyone able to shed any light or at least point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance
SC

Hi SC,
Yes you in the right section.
You can start from drawing on a paper all the digits and letters you want to see on your 7 segment display. Once you happy with your drawings build a truth table. The inputs should be all 4 bits and outputs are states of each segment on the display.
When you have your truth table, you can synthesize your circuit.
Hope this help,
Eugene
